This programme has been especially designed for our young learners and includes a General English course made up of 20 lessons per week, which covers the four main skills of language learning - reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Our newly refurbished centre for young learners is located in the town of Sliema and comprises an open plan student lounge with a reception area, a modern administration office, 60 bright and airy classrooms and a large internal courtyard providing a spacious area where our students can enjoy their lunch break and mingle with their fellow students from different countries.

There is also a safe and fun packed activity programme which is supervised by our trained activity leaders at all times.

Accommodation may be booked in a host family, student residence or hotel (all on full board basis and in shared rooms).

EMPLOYEE PROFILE
We are pleased to announce the recruitment of Carol Galea Souchet to the post of General Manager – Operations as from 6th October 2008 at IELS Malta. Carol joined our team as part of the reorganisation process currently taking place at IELS Malta. Mr Brian R. Mizzi, who was appointed managing Director of IELS Malta, last December, said that the primary objective of this recruitment is to enable us to expand and improve our business and the overall management of IELS Malta will be the responsibility of Carol and John Dimech, General Manager – Administration, who has been with us for the past 15 years. Carol is looking forward to meeting our agents, both in Malta and abroad, and she will be planning visits to some countries in the coming months.

Carol has worked in the language industry for a number of years and has gained a wealth of experience during the time spent working at EC Malta and then at Enforex in Barcelona, Spain - occupying senior positions in both companies.  Her career started at the age of 19 when she first joined Lombard Bank (M) Ltd and then moved on to Bupa for two years before finally getting involved in language travel, which, she confirms, is where she truly found her place.  In 2003, Carol decided to move to Barcelona, Spain where she has spent the last 5 years working in the marketing sector.  This has also given her the opportunity to gain a vast experience and exposure overseas, particularly across Europe and the USA.

Carol is 39 years old, loves sports, the outdoors, dancing, travelling and meeting new people.

IELS RECEIVES ACCREDITATION
A number of accreditation inspections were carried out amongst FELTOM member schools during this summer. The Accreditation Council reached its conclusions on these inspections late in September and the Institute of English Language Studies (IELS) was one of the schools that gained accreditation status. The schools were presented with the Accreditation Certificate by the chairman of the Accreditation Council, Prof. Mark G. Borg on Tuesday 21st October.

STUDENT INTERVIEW
Well it’s my second time in Malta and IELS school as well.  I’m very pleased with this country.  It has an amazingly rich history and plenty of social places to visit.  I’d recommend that you get a guide book to make yourself familiar with Maltese traditions and feasts.

With regards to our school, it’s a very comfortable place to study in and improve your English language.  You will enjoy its warm atmosphere and sociable staff, lots of activities as well as all the new friends you will make.

So don’t hesitate for a moment and go for it!
