University Pathway Programme

Let our English school in Malta assist you to read for a Bachelor or a Masters degree at the University of Malta or St. Martins Institute of IT.  You need to reach an Intermediate level of English to be accepted by first studying a General English programme followed by IELTS preparation.

University of Malta
Conscious of its public role, the University strives to create courses which are relevant and timely in response to the needs of the country. There are some 10,000 students including over 750 foreign/exchange students from nearly 80 different countries, following full-time or part-time degree and diploma courses many of them run on the modular or credit system. The University is geared towards the infrastructural and industrial needs of the country so as to provide expertise in crucial fields. Over 2,500 students graduate in various disciplines annually. The degree courses at the University are designed to produce highly qualified professionals, with experience of research, who will play key roles in industry, commerce and public affairs in general.

Applications for courses at the University of Malta starting in October 2010 will be accepted as from
1st October 2009. The deadline for applications for most courses will be 15th May 2010. The University has introduced an online application process which is now available at:

St Martins Institute of IT
St. Martin’s Institute of Information Technology is the primary provider of Information Systems, Computing and Business Education in Malta. The Institute was set up in 1985, and since then has been preparing students for competitive and public examinations in these subjects, based upon syllabi offered by renowned British and Maltese Universities.

The Institute, together with a number of similar institutions worldwide, provides tuition based upon the University of London and offers tuition support for degrees led by Goldsmiths and London School of Economics and Political Science, both Colleges of the University of London. Students have the unique opportunity to study and complete a university degree in Malta whilst being registered as an external student of the University of London.

Applications open on 1st November 2009 and close on 30th June 2010. Students are required to apply for the course with an application form, details of qualifications, as well as their IELTS result. The minimum entry requirement for diploma students is IELTS 5.0 or equivalent. Students who want to apply for degrees are required to have an IELTS score of 6.0 and a minimum level of 5.5 in each sub-test.
